Downloading/Synchronizing Instructions

There are several methods, described below, to speed up your access and viewing of the SMWG web site materials.  These approaches will circumvent "World Wide Wait" problems you may experience.

1)  Download the Individual Technical Papers (.pdf files):

Note: Files listed will load and display in Adobe Acrobat®, when you left click the links.  If your browser opens a separate window for Adobe Acrobat®, you can File/Save the .pdf file to your hard drive from the Acrobat® window.  If your browser is set up to display the Adobe Acrobat® document within its own window, right clicking the links below provides the best path to successful downloading and saving to your hard drive.  Choose  "Save target to" and specify the hard drive location.

2)
Download the Main Overview, Executive Summaries, and Technical Papers:
As a self-extracting zipped file.  Right click and  "Save target to..."  (1,702 KB) [Click here]

Note: For downloading the zipped files, we suggest you create a separate directory, download to that directory, execute the downloaded file to unzip it, and then delete the downloaded (.exe) file as you wish.

3)  Browser Subscription or Synchronization:  You may wish to investigate the Subscription or Synchronization capabilities of your browser.  Browsers will automatically download entire web sites for offline browsing at a later time.  This is another way to avoid waiting for individual pages to download, since once the command is given, the entire web page is downloaded without attention.  You may go away and return later to the entirely downloaded site.  You can direct your browser to check for updates at any time or automatically on a regular schedule.  In setting up the instructions, be sure to direct the browser to omit links outside the current web site.  Otherwise, your browser will also retrieve large volumes of information from external links.  You should direct your browser to download 8 links deep for this web site.
